Bharti Singh gives birth to second baby boy

Popular Indian comedian and television host Bharti Singh has expanded her family, welcoming a healthy baby boy on Friday, 19 December. This marks the second child for Bharti and her husband, television host Haarsh Limbachiyaa, adding a new sibling for their first son, Lakshya, who was born in April 2022.

From Studio to Hospital: A Sudden Delivery

The birth had an unexpected twist, as media reports indicate Bharti Singh went into labor while actively shooting for the reality TV show Laughter Chefs Season 3. Demonstrating her dedication, she was working despite being in an advanced stage of her second pregnancy. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where she successfully delivered her newborn.

The couple, who tied the knot in December 2017, are overjoyed with the new arrival. Their first child, Lakshya, has frequently appeared on television with his parents. Bharti had previously expressed her hope for a baby girl this time, but the arrival of another son has undoubtedly brought immense happiness to the family.

Bharti Singh's Candid Health Struggles

Bharti Singh has been remarkably open about her health journey throughout her pregnancies. The couple announced they were expecting their second child while on a holiday in Switzerland and kept fans regularly updated.

A significant challenge arose when her sugar levels spiked during this pregnancy. In reports to NDTV, Bharti revealed her confusion and concern as her fasting sugars increased rapidly, even though she maintained a strict diet. Her HbA1c level rose from 4.5 to 6.7, entering the diabetes range. This was particularly stressful as her husband Haarsh was away for work in Dubai at the time.

This wasn't her first battle with gestational diabetes; she was diagnosed with borderline diabetes before her first pregnancy as well. To conceive naturally then, she had imposed strict dietary controls to lose weight. Her candid discussions have highlighted the very real health considerations many women face.

A Career Built on Laughter

Bharti Singh, who rose to fame after participating in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Season 4 in 2008, has consistently balanced her thriving career with personal milestones. Her ability to host Laughter Chefs Season 3 so late into her pregnancy is a testament to her professionalism and energy. Despite the recent sugar scare, both the new baby and Bharti are reported to be doing perfectly fine, allowing the family to focus on their celebrations.
