Bobby Deol Opens Up About His Father Dharmendra on Shekhar Tonite
Actor Bobby Deol became visibly emotional while reminiscing about his legendary father, Dharmendra, during a recent appearance on Shekhar Suman's chat show, Shekhar Tonite. The actor shared heartfelt memories and spoke about the immense love people continue to hold for the veteran actor.
Recalling His Father's Impact
Reflecting on Dharmendra's influence, Bobby said, "For me, my father was someone who was loved so deeply by the entire world. I always knew that, but when he passed away, the amount of grief and pain that people felt, not just me or my family, but the whole world, was overwhelming. Wherever I go, I see how much everyone was affected... that's who papa was. Papa was special. No one can ever become like him, and no one can ever replace him."
A Quality He Cherished Most
When asked to name one quality he would always remember about his father, Bobby said it was impossible to pick just one. He stated, "There can never be another person like him. Every little thing about him was so lovable. Even his anger felt like love."
A Light Moment on the Show
The emotional exchange also included a lighter moment when host Shekhar Suman asked Bobby whether he came on the show as Vijay Singh Deol, Bobby Deol, Baba Deol, or the fan-favorite "Lord Bobby." In response, Bobby summed up his identity in one simple line: "Main Dharmendra ka beta hoon."
A new episode of Shekhar Tonite airs every Friday on YouTube.
