Former NBA star Dwight Howard has made serious allegations against his estranged wife, Amber Rose Howard, also known as Amy Luciani, in newly filed court documents. Howard has requested a protective order and claims his marriage fell apart because of what he describes as years of dishonesty and manipulation. The former basketball player said the relationship had been troubled for a long time and eventually led him to seek a divorce.
According to the legal filing obtained by multiple media outlets, Howard accused Amber of spreading false information about him after their separation. He claimed the alleged actions damaged both his personal life and professional opportunities. The court documents also reveal that the former NBA champion and his estranged wife recently agreed to stay away from each other and avoid discussing one another on social media.
Dwight Howard Claims False Allegations Hurt His Career and Personal Life
In the court filing, Dwight Howard said Amber Rose launched what he described as a campaign of misinformation against him following the breakdown of their marriage. He alleged that she made negative claims about him to family members, friends, and the mothers of his children. Howard argued that these accusations harmed his reputation and affected his ability to secure work opportunities.
As per TMZ, the former NBA star also claimed Amber provided inaccurate information to law enforcement authorities. He further alleged that she repeatedly misled him during their relationship. One of Howard's most notable claims was that Amber was aware of fertility issues but allegedly concealed that information from him before they got married. He argued that he entered the marriage based on information he later believed was untrue.
Amber has reportedly rejected Howard's allegations and disputes the claims made against her.
Howard also responded to accusations that he used cocaine. In the filing, he strongly denied ever using the drug and stated that the allegation was completely false. He claimed the accusation negatively affected potential business and employment opportunities.
A few days after the legal dispute became public, both parties reportedly reached a temporary agreement. Under the arrangement, Howard and Amber must remain at least 100 yards away from each other and are prohibited from harassing one another online. Court records also indicate that Howard was granted exclusive use of his Georgia mansion. However, he will provide Amber with $10,000 to assist with relocation expenses as their separation proceedings continue.
