Ed Sheeran Plans Hiatus After Tour for Family

Ed Sheeran, currently on his North American 'LOOP' tour, has shared a major career update with fans. The singer began the tour on June 14 in Glendale, Arizona, where he performed his biggest hits. During the concert, Sheeran revealed that he plans to take a step back from music after the tour to focus on his personal life, particularly being a father. He told the audience, 'This is gonna be my last time here in a while. I might take some time off once this tour has ended and sort of do the dad thing. So if I don't see you for a while, I love you, thank you for coming.'

This announcement comes a month after Sheeran left his music label of 15 years. In a public statement, he clarified, 'This isn't a disgruntled artist leaves record label. This is a boy who started as a teenager on the company with different priorities, to the father-of-two man who exists now, who feels like he needs a shift and change.'

Ed Sheeran's Previous Breaks

This is not the first time Sheeran has taken a hiatus. He previously stepped away in 2015 after his 'Multiply' album and again from 2019 to 2021 after the 'Divide' era.
