Bengal's beloved detective Eken Babu is making a grand return to the big screen with what is being hailed as the most ambitious installment of the franchise to date. Titled The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra, this mystery-adventure film transports the sleuth to uncharted territories against the stunning backdrop of Kerala.

Over the years, Eken Babu has transformed from a hugely popular web-series character into a successful big-screen phenomenon. Audiences have embraced his quirky charm and unconventional investigative methods. Building on the success of previous films, the latest installment aims to elevate the stakes with a broader canvas, a more intricate mystery, and consequences that resonate at a national level.
Creative Team and Cast
Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, the film is based on a story by the late Sujan Dasgupta and written by Padmanabha Dasgupta. Anirban Chakrabarti reprises his iconic role as Eken Babu, joined once again by Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as Bapi and Somak Ghosh as Pramatha. The ensemble cast also includes Ritwick Chakraborty, Raima Sen, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Arna Mukhopadhyay, Subrat Dutta, and Shataf Figar.
Kamaleswar plays Mihir Sen, whose disappearance triggers a chain of events. Ritwick steps into the role of Irfan Fazil, an intelligent and dangerous figure at the heart of the mystery. Raima essays the enigmatic Dipa, while Ambarish Bhattacharya, Arna Mukhopadhyay, and Subrat Dutta portray characters whose lives become entangled in a web of secrets, shifting loyalties, and hidden agendas.

Speaking about returning as Eken Babu, Anirban said the new film is “bigger, more adventurous, and unlike anything Eken has encountered before,” while retaining the essence of the character that audiences have loved over the years. Joydeep described the film as one of the most ambitious stories in the Eken universe, blending humour, suspense, action, and adventure while exploring a larger conflict with national implications.
