"I slipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold," Fieri explained during his interview with Fox News Digital.
He described how the mishap stretched his body into an awkward position that resembled doing splits. The real damage occurred when his right leg compressed into itself, causing the severe injury. The accident happened at a particularly inconvenient time, with 125 people on set and all chefs ready for filming.

"This was right in the center of the whole quad muscle and it exploded," Fieri shared, emphasizing the unusual nature of the tear that occurred in the biggest, thickest part of his quad muscle. The celebrity chef immediately underwent a surgical procedure to prevent his muscle from receding and to address the damage.

Following the surgery, Fieri is now focused on his recovery phase. He is currently wheelchair-bound and spending his recuperation time at his ranch, surrounded by nature.
