A case of sexual harassment has been registered at the MB Nagar police station in Kalaburagi against Hanamanta Biradar, warden of a hostel run by the backward classes welfare department in Afzalpur. The accused allegedly harassed a student by contacting her late at night through Instagram.
Details of the Incident
Police said the student, who resides with her family in Kalaburagi city, was allegedly contacted by the accused using the Instagram ID Hemanthbiradar@24. The warden reportedly made late-night calls and sent messages that amounted to sexual harassment. He is also accused of sending her messages stating that he would take her to Bidar and Mantralaya by car.
According to the complaint, the accused at one point came near the girl's house and allegedly made inappropriate remarks, including telling her that she looked very good and should remain that way. The girl's father stated in his complaint that the warden also threatened his daughter's life. The incident reportedly took place on March 15, 2026, around noon.
Victim's Ordeal and Police Action
The complainant said his daughter was initially scared and did not disclose the harassment at home.
