Former Google Executive Killed in Georgia Home Shooting

Indian American Sheetal Wrzesien, a former Google executive, was shot dead by her husband in Cobb County, Georgia, according to a local media report. The incident occurred at the couple's home on Laurel Creek Trail in Smyrna, near Atlanta.

Wrzesien's son Jason was injured in the shootout. The accused, 56-year-old Kirk B Wrzesien, was arrested at the family's residence and is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Centre.

Details of the Incident

According to the Cobb County Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the home shortly before 8 pm. Upon arrival, they found 57-year-old Sheetal Wrzesien inside with multiple gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Kirk Wrzesien faces charges of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Neighbor Shocked by Violence

Joanne Anderson, a neighbor who has lived on Laurel Creek Trail for over 20 years, expressed shock. “I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know if someone had a heart attack or what had happened,” Anderson told Atlanta News First.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. Sheetal Wrzesien had previously worked as a senior executive at Google before her retirement.
