Jodhpur Influencer Anita Bishnoi Shows Recovery After Suicide Attempt

Jodhpur: Social media influencer Anita Bishnoi (32), who allegedly attempted suicide after facing online trolling on Wednesday, is showing signs of recovery and undergoing treatment at the MDM Hospital in Jodhpur.

Medical Update

Hospital superintendent Vikas Rajpurohit stated that Bishnoi was brought to the hospital in critical condition after allegedly consuming a toxic substance. She received initial treatment in the emergency ward and was later shifted to the ICU for close monitoring.

“Her condition has improved, but she will remain under observation for the next two to three days due to the lingering effects of the poison,” Rajpurohit said.

Police Investigation

No case has been filed yet, as police are waiting for family members to lodge a formal complaint against the alleged trolls. SHO Banar Lekhraj Sihag said, “Presently, they are attending to her in the hospital and waiting for her to be normal.”

Background of the Incident

The incident came to light after Anita shared an emotional message on social media shortly before consuming the substance. She wrote that people would no longer see their “sister” in this world, triggering concern among followers.

Her husband, Dinaram, revealed that Anita was under severe mental stress due to sustained trolling and harassment. He alleged that several influencers targeted her over a satirical comment on changing social values and cultural trends. “Some individuals threatened to defame her and sent objectionable messages via WhatsApp, leaving her deeply disturbed,” he said.

Dinaram was away from home when the incident occurred. After seeing Anita’s post, an acquaintance informed him, and he rushed home to take her to the hospital.

Family Dispute Allegations

Anita’s nephew, Mahendra Bishnoi, linked the controversy to a family dispute, alleging that a land-related disagreement in her marital family led to tensions and that six family members initiated the trolling campaign.

Anita began creating videos in 2018, focusing on Rajasthani culture and social issues. She built a significant following over the years. Her husband, a farmer, supported her content creation efforts after seeing her popularity and success.
