The producer-director escalated the matter to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA), which subsequently decided to ban the actor. FWICE president BN Tiwari confirmed that the union had issued a 'non-cooperation directive' against Ranveer until he agreed to meet with its representatives.

Following the ban, several industry figures have come forward in support of Ranveer. Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has herself faced numerous bans, voiced her solidarity. She stated, 'You are asking me, I have been banned by everyone. I would like to say that when your status increases, your enemies also increase. It is impossible for your status to rise without making enemies. So Ranveer Singh should think about his status—he has so many enemies.'
Kangana added, 'So, it is good. When you move forward in life, there are many kinds of obstacles. You cannot always have a smooth walk. This much has happened with me. And look, today I am doing well. My car is running. It does not make any difference. Everything is going to be fine eventually.'
