Kasol Video: Tourists on Moving Car Sparks Outrage

A video from Kasol, a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh, is circulating widely online after showing a group of tourists allegedly performing risky stunts on a moving vehicle. What appears at first glance to be a celebratory moment has instead sparked concern and debate on social media.

Much of the reaction has focused on safety and public behaviour, with users questioning the need for such dangerous actions on busy roads in a tourist-heavy area.

What happens in the video?

The 21-second clip shows a group of men travelling in a car through Kasol. Several of them can be seen leaning out of the vehicle while it is in motion. Some appear to be hanging out of the windows and sunroof, while two individuals are seen on top of the vehicle. A few members of the group are reportedly without shirts. The video also appears to show one person sitting partly outside the side door of the moving car. The group seems to be recording videos as the vehicle moves through the area.

Post sparks strong reactions

The video was shared on X with a caption that criticized the behaviour shown in the footage. It read: “Look at the other tourists around; local women are moving nearby too. What kind of shamelessness is this? This behaviour is nowhere to be defended. A few such people end up tarnishing the image of an entire state.”

Safety becomes the main talking point

Much of the discussion online focused on the risks involved in such behaviour, particularly in hill destinations where roads can be narrow and winding. Several users expressed concern that actions like these could create danger not only for those participating but also for others travelling nearby. Others said that incidents of this kind often end up overshadowing the positive image of tourist destinations and become a point of concern for locals and visitors alike.
