Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and Indian cricket star Virat Kohli were recently spotted making a low-key journey to their holiday home in Alibaug. The high-profile couple chose to travel by boat to a private jetty, ensuring their movement remained swift and away from the public gaze.
A Discreet Arrival by Water
Earlier this week, instead of taking the conventional road route, Kohli and Sharma arrived at their Alibaug property via a boat. This strategic choice allowed them to dock directly at a nearby jetty, keeping the visit brief and largely unnoticed. Dressed in chic, casual outfits, the pair did not stop for photographs or to interact with onlookers. Anushka Sharma wore blue-and-white striped trousers with a simple white shirt, while Virat Kohli sported black jeans, a white T-shirt, and a dark jacket. They quickly proceeded from the jetty to their residence.
Inside Their Luxurious Alibaug Retreat
The couple's Alibaug villa, which has been a topic of fascination since Kohli shared glimpses of it, is an architectural marvel. The property was designed by the renowned firm Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA) in collaboration with designer Philippe Fouché. Kohli had earlier mentioned that the project, from planning to execution, took about a year to complete.
As per reports from Architectural Digest, the sprawling estate spans approximately eight acres of land. The Kohli-Sharma family acquired this prime real estate in 2022 for an estimated ₹19 crore. The main villa, covering 10,000 square feet, boasts a host of luxury amenities including:
- A temperature-controlled swimming pool.
- A bespoke, custom-designed kitchen.
- Multiple bathrooms and a jacuzzi.
- Separate staff quarters.
- Covered parking facilities.
The landscaping and overall layout have been meticulously planned to ensure maximum privacy, limiting visibility from outside the property.
Spiritual Pitstop in Vrindavan
Prior to their Alibaug retreat, the couple made a significant spiritual stopover. They visited the holy town of Vrindavan the previous day to meet their spiritual guide, Premanand Maharaj. This marked their third such visit this year, following similar meetings in January and May.
A video from the intimate gathering showed Sharma and Kohli sitting quietly and attentively listening to the spiritual teacher. Premanand Maharaj spoke on themes of devotion and perceiving one's professional work as a form of service. During the interaction, Anushka Sharma was heard saying, “Hum aapke hai maharaj ji, aur aap humare.” The atmosphere was described as calm and serene.
For now, the celebrity duo has not shared any official updates about their plans. Their trip to Alibaug appears to have been a deliberately private, short break away from their bustling professional lives in Mumbai.
