A man was arrested on Monday for allegedly attacking his wife and her YouTuber friend with a sickle and stick in the Jhagaha area of Gorakhpur after reportedly finding them together at his home. Police tracked down the accused and arrested him during a raid.
Incident Details
According to officials, the incident occurred around 5:30 pm on Sunday in Piparpati village under the jurisdiction of Jhagaha police station. The accused, who works in Tamil Nadu, had returned home about 15 days back. Police said that while he was away, his wife allegedly invited her friend over.
Attack and Injuries
Investigators said the accused returned unexpectedly and allegedly found the two together inside a room. Enraged, he reportedly attacked the YouTuber with a sharp-edged weapon, inflicting serious injuries to his neck and ear. Police added that the accused later assaulted his wife with a stick, causing a severe head injury.
Police Response
After hearing screams from the house, villagers informed the police, who rushed both injured individuals to AIIMS Gorakhpur for treatment. Authorities said the weapon used in the attack has been recovered, and the accused will be produced before a court.
Possible Motive
Circle officer Chauri Chaura Ratneshwar Singh said marital disputes had reportedly arisen after the accused allegedly came across videos featuring his wife and the YouTuber. The investigation is ongoing.
