Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati on Tuesday described the murder of national kabaddi player Anushka Pal as “extremely heartbreaking and alarming” and demanded strict action against the accused.

Mayawati's Reaction

In a post on X, Mayawati said, “The news of the murder of Anushka Pal, a 17-year-old national kabaddi player from Chirodi village in Sardhana Assembly constituency of Meerut, is extremely heartbreaking and alarming.” She emphasised that the incident has shaken society to its core.

Demand for Justice

Mayawati called for the swift arrest of those involved in the crime. “The government should take strict legal action against them so that the victim’s family receives justice and such an incident is not repeated,” she added.

Anushka, who had been missing for over six weeks, was found dead in a drain on Monday. According to police, she was murdered by a fast-food vendor over an unpaid debt. The case has sparked outrage and demands for a thorough investigation.
