The Wagholi police in Pune on Monday arrested a 27-year-old man from Parbhani district for allegedly throttling his live-in partner to death on the suspicion of infidelity. The incident occurred sometime between May 28 and 31.
Details of the Case
The deceased, a native of Medinipur in West Bengal, had been living with her partner, a plumber, in a flat for the past two years, according to the Wagholi police. The suspect was arrested from his native place in Parbhani district.
Discovery of the Body
The police reported that a foul smell permeated the building, prompting residents to trace the source to the locked flat. Some residents called the police, who then broke open the front door lock and discovered the decomposed body of the woman.
Further investigation revealed that the man had throttled her to death. The police have registered a case and are conducting further inquiries.
