A painting exhibition honouring noted artist Rajeev Mishra was inaugurated on Monday in Lucknow. The event is a collaboration between the Rajeev Neelam Arts and Cultural Foundation and the State Lalit Kala Akademi. The exhibition will remain open to visitors until Tuesday, from 11 am to 6 pm.
Exhibition Highlights
The show presents around 29 works, including wash, watercolour, and acrylic paintings, attracting art lovers and students in large numbers. Curated by Mishra's daughter, Stuti Mishra, the exhibition showcases his mastery of wash techniques and his emotional engagement with everyday life.
Key Artworks
Key works include 'Minnat,' a watercolour wash portraying women carrying lanterns and earthen lamps as symbols of hope, and 'Gaushala,' a wash-and-ink pen composition creating a striking 3D-like view of cows resting in a manger.
Additional Features
Visitors also watched a short film tracing Mishra's journey, struggles, achievements, and personality. Artist Umesh Kumar Saxena called Mishra an important signature of the state's artistic tradition.
