As 2025 comes to a close, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is looking back on a year packed with significant personal and professional achievements. The star saw the launch of her own production house, backed her first film, and capped it all off with a beautiful wedding to filmmaker Raj Nidimoru.
A Whirlwind Year of Milestones
Professionally, Samantha embarked on new ventures by starting her own production house. She also took on a backing role for her first film, titled 'Subham', in which she made a special cameo appearance. These moves marked a strategic expansion of her career in the Indian film industry.
On the personal front, the biggest event was her marriage. Samantha tied the knot with director Raj Nidimoru in an intimate ceremony in Coimbatore on December 1, 2025. The wedding was a sacred Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha ritual held at the abode of Linga Bhairavi Devi within the Isha Yoga Center. Samantha looked stunning in a red Banarasi saree by designer Arpita Mehta, while Raj chose a beige kurta paired with a gold jacket from Tarun Tahiliani.
Christmas Reflections and Unseen Wedding Glimpses
On Christmas Eve, Samantha shared her gratitude with fans through an Instagram post. She posted a series of pictures and videos capturing key moments from her year. The carousel included an unseen photograph from her wedding day, showing her seated beside Raj in their wedding attire. Raj can be seen making a playful expression, which made Samantha laugh.
Other highlights in the post were a video of her intense gym training, a still from her cameo in 'Subham', and a picture of a festively decorated Christmas tree. She captioned the heartfelt post, "A year of gratitude ?"
The Story Behind the Minimalist Mehendi
The Instagram post also featured a picture from Samantha's mehendi ceremony. The henna was applied by Chennai-based artist Arulmozhi Ilavarasu, who shared exclusive details about the design with ETimes.
"Samantha was very mindful about getting a minimal henna design, which is a trendsetter," the artist revealed. "For a special touch, we hid the groom’s name, 'Raj', in her henna." She explained that opting for minimal designs makes them more visible and vibrant, adding a unique vibe to the overall wedding aesthetic compared to full-hand patterns. Samantha wanted a blend of minimalism with traditional touches like cap fillings.
The entire mehendi application took about an hour due to its simple, minimalistic nature. When asked about the specific placement of the hidden name, Arulmozhi Ilavarasu said, "Raj's name was hidden in her right middle finger. It's a part of the henna culture to hide the groom's name."
This detailed revelation adds a layer of traditional romance to Samantha's modern, minimalist wedding choices. The year 2025 truly stands as a landmark chapter for Samantha Ruth Prabhu, seamlessly blending major career moves with profound personal joy.
