Shoaib Ibrahim recently opened up about his father's critical health condition in a YouTube vlog, revealing that his father suffered a brain hemorrhage and is currently admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). The actor clarified that it was not a stroke but internal bleeding in the brain. He also shared that his wife, Dipika Kakar, underwent a PET scan after doctors detected new cysts.
Father's Health Condition
In his vlog, Shoaib explained that his father experienced another brain-related issue, which turned out to be a hemorrhage caused by bleeding in the brain. Unlike the previous stroke where a clot paralyzed the left side, this time there was significant bleeding in the back part of the brain, leading to speech difficulties and potential vision problems on the right side. The right side of his body is also affected. Shoaib noted that his father's blood pressure was extremely high, over 180, but has since come under control.
The actor mentioned that doctors are waiting for swelling to subside before performing a procedure to make a hole in the skull and remove blood clots. They are monitoring him closely for two days and cannot rush due to blood thinner medication, which requires a wait of three to four days.
Emotional Toll and Family Support
Shoaib expressed that this is a challenging phase for the family, testing their strength and faith. He urged fans to pray for his father and Dipika during Hajj. He has not allowed his mother to visit the ICU to spare her from seeing her husband in such a state. His sister Saba is with him, and Dipika visited once.
The incident occurred on a Saturday morning. The previous night, his father had watched an IPL match and a film. He woke up at 3:30 am to use the washroom, but by 8 am, he was in distress. Shoaib noticed his speech was unclear and immediately understood the severity.
Dipika Kakar's PET Scan
Alongside his father's health, Shoaib shared that Dipika had a PET scan scheduled, and the family is tense about the results. An MRI had previously shown signs of concern. Shoaib has booked a hotel near the hospital to stay close while his father remains in the ICU.
