In a parallel development, the police have also issued a second summons to prominent social media influencer Orry, whose real name is Orhan Awatramani. The influencer has been asked to appear at the same ANC Ghatkopar unit on Wednesday, November 26, to record his official statement concerning the drug case.

The involvement of these personalities came to light after information provided by an alleged drug dealer identified as Shaikh, who was recently deported from Dubai. Police sources indicate that several film and fashion industry celebrities named by Shaikh during interrogation are likely to be questioned as the investigation progresses.

Background of the Massive Drug Seizure

The case that has sent shockwaves through law enforcement agencies dates back to March 2024, when police conducted a major operation resulting in the seizure of 126.14 kilograms of mephedrone, commonly known as MD. The staggering quantity of drugs was estimated to have a street value of approximately ₹252 crore.

The narcotics were discovered and confiscated from a manufacturing unit operating on a farm located in Maharashtra's Sangli district. This seizure represents one of the largest drug busts in recent times and has prompted a widespread investigation into the distribution networks and potential consumers within high-profile circles.

The Mumbai Police Anti-Narcotics Cell continues to pursue all leads aggressively, with the recent summons indicating that the investigation is expanding to include individuals who might have connections to the alleged drug network. Authorities remain tight-lipped about specific evidence linking the summoned individuals to the case but emphasize that all aspects are being thoroughly examined.

Legal experts suggest that the summons represent preliminary stages of investigation, where individuals are being called to provide information that might assist police in understanding the broader network and consumption patterns of the seized narcotics.
