Collaborations and Legacy

Even rock music fans got a taste of his talent when he worked with The Rolling Stones on their 1981 album 'Tattoo You'. He performed a saxophone solo on the song 'Waiting on a Friend' from that album. Over the years, Rollins often expressed that he was never quite satisfied with what he had achieved and wanted to learn more about music. In an old interview with the Associated Press in 2007, he stated, 'I don't consider myself a musician that has learned as much as I want to learn.'

Rollins started his musical journey at a young age and remained active well into his adulthood before retiring. He stopped playing music around the late 2000s after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. In 2012, he held his last official concert, and he completely retired from the music scene in 2014.

Rollins' passing was met with massive shock, as he was one of the greatest musical pioneers of his time. He leaves behind a rich legacy in all the music he worked on throughout his career.
