Sophie Turner, the celebrated actress from 'Game of Thrones', is consciously choosing to step away from the dating scene. As she approaches a new decade in her life, her energy is firmly directed towards her professional commitments and, most importantly, her role as a mother to her two young daughters.
Work and Motherhood Take Centre Stage
According to a recent report, Turner has not been on a single date for several months. The actress is reportedly dedicating all her time to her work and to raising her two children, Willa, aged five, and Delphine, who is three. These are her daughters from her previous marriage to singer Joe Jonas, which ended in 2023. Following the split, Turner was briefly linked to Peregrine Pearson, but her current focus is unequivocally elsewhere.
In a candid conversation with Net-a-Porter's Porter magazine, Turner offered a transparent glimpse into her current life balance. She spoke openly about the pervasive feeling of 'mum guilt' that many working parents experience. "I work all week and then, on the weekends, I’ll spend all day with my kids each day," she shared. "But if I go out for lunch with a friend, I will run back home because my heart is sinking that I’ve left them."
She further emphasised her current priorities, stating, "I haven’t seen my friends or gone on a date in weeks, months. I just sack off parts of my life sometimes. I only have the capacity for work and family right now." However, she remains optimistic, adding, "But I’m working on it. I’ll get there."
Daughters Rekindle Creative Joy
Turner also explained why maintaining a thriving career is a non-negotiable part of her identity as a parent. She believes that pursuing her own passion sets a powerful example for her girls. "In order to be a great role model for them, I have to have a passion for myself," she said. "I love that they see me going out to work every day and working my a*** off."
Interestingly, her children have also played a key role in revitalising her own creative spirit. Turner revealed that her daughters' love for imaginative play has been infectious. "They love making up plays. I’ve got the joy and the childlikeness of it back, which is so nice," she expressed, highlighting a beautiful, unexpected benefit of motherhood.
Hoping for a Peaceful Chapter Ahead
As Sophie Turner nears her 30th birthday, her aspirations are centred on calm and stability. The past few years, marked by the highly publicised end of her marriage, have been demanding. She is now looking forward to turning the page.
"I just want to have some peace in my thirties," Turner confessed. "I feel like it’s been really hectic for a long time and I’m ready to not have that anymore. Just settle a bit." While acknowledging the unpredictability of life, she concluded with a hopeful, "We’ll see if that happens." For now, the actress is firmly in a chapter defined by family, career, and personal growth, deliberately putting romantic pursuits on hold.
