Stephen Colbert Teases His Return
Though no official announcement was made, Colbert teased his appearance on public access TV during his final words on the CBS show. Stephen Colbert: Back on Television
In a minimalist, low-budget show, Colbert was joined by guests from Michigan, including music director Jack White and actor Jeff Daniels. Eminem and Steve Buscemi appeared via filmed segments, while Colbert FaceTimed his late-night successor, Byron Allen. 'It's been an excruciating 23 hours without being on TV, so I am grateful to be able to be here on Monroe Community Media before they also get acquired by Paramount,' he said during the broadcast at 11:35 pm local time on Friday.
Guest Appearances on 'Only in Monroe'
White and Daniels were in the studio, while Eminem made a brief cameo. Colbert led everyone outside to a dumpster to burn the remains of the no-longer-used 'Only in Monroe' set. Claiming he needed permission from Marshall, Colbert asked, 'Marshall, are you OK if we light this up?' Eminem, also known as Marshall Mathers, replied via video, 'Stephen, Marshall, here. You are absolutely clear to burn that mother**** down, bro.'
