Teen beaten to death over love affair in Aurangabad

A 17-year-old teenager, Ritesh Kumar, was beaten to death over an alleged love affair in Aurangabad on Friday morning. The incident took place in Adalpur village under Rafiganj police station area.

Details of the Incident

The body of Ritesh, son of Amresh Das, bore multiple injury marks, while his hands and legs were broken, and there was a deep head injury. The deceased’s father said, “Criminals beat Ritesh to death when he had gone towards the canal outside the village for some work. Villagers later spotted the body lying in a pool of blood near the canal and informed the family.”

Police Investigation

Police suspect two bamboo pieces were used to beat Ritesh, who was the youngest of three siblings. His father works as a worker at a private school. Rafiganj SHO Shambhu Kumar said, “Preliminary probe points to a love affair as the motive behind the killing. Ritesh was reportedly in a relationship with a girl from the neighborhood, which frequently caused disputes with her family. The family has identified some suspects, including one Mantu Kumar, son of Dhanush Das of the same village, who have been named in the FIR.”

“Others involved in the killing will be identified and arrested soon,” he added.
