A 16-year-old girl, Sajida Parveen, was allegedly killed in Araria district late Monday night for opposing an illicit relationship. Her body was discovered at her parent's house on Tuesday. Police have arrested two individuals and are interrogating them.
Background of the Case
Sajida, a resident of Prem Nagar ward no. 16 under Araria RS Police station area, was married against her will to 35-year-old Abbu Nasar about 18 months ago. Her father, Mudshir, stated that his daughter did not want to marry as she was a minor, but her mother, Shaista Parveen (45), arranged the marriage.
Allegations of Affair
Mudshir alleged that his wife Shaista and son-in-law Abbu had been in a relationship for five years. He claimed, "The affair between my wife and Abbu continued because my daughter was a minor." Sajida had reportedly witnessed her mother and husband together and began opposing their relationship.
Murder Plot
Mudshir alleged that both Shaista and Abbu conspired to kill Sajida. On Monday night, Shaista claimed Sajida was unwell. She and Abbu took her on a bike in an unconscious state, saying they would consult a doctor. Instead, they took her to Godhi Chowk and killed her. After the murder, they left her body at their home in Prem Nagar.
Police Action
Araria RS police station in-charge Ankur Kumar said a team reached the spot after receiving information. "The body was sent to a government hospital for postmortem. Police have arrested Shaista Parveen and Abbu Nasar. Both are being interrogated, and further legal action is underway," the officer said.
The case has shocked the local community, highlighting issues of child marriage and domestic violence. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the minor's marriage and subsequent murder.
