Tina Ahuja, the daughter of renowned Bollywood actor Govinda, has consciously stepped back from the acting spotlight. After her roles in the film 'Second Hand Husband' and an OTT project, she has shifted her focus towards exploring the world of entrepreneurship. Currently, she is soaking in the vibrant culture and crisp weather of North India, spending several weeks in Chandigarh.
Embracing the Punjabi Winter: Fashion, Food & Survival
For a Mumbai-born individual, the harsh North Indian winter can be a shock to the system. Tina Ahuja admits as much, laughing about how 'Chandigarh and Punjab winters hit damn hard.' However, work commitments have kept her in the region, leading to a charming adaptation strategy. She has fully embraced the season, layering up in colourful scarves, hoodies, gloves, and elegant French coats.
'I love winters,' Tina confesses. Her routine now includes indulging in seasonal comforts like hot milk infused with ghee and kesar, decadent hot chocolate, traditional gajar ka halwa, and warm soups. Fashion, for her, is a blend of style and practicality during these cold months. 'I love layering; it’s stylish and practical,' she notes. To combat the chill, she relies on warm water, heaters, and, of course, plenty of cosy woollens, calling it a 'survival mode' she is gradually getting used to.
Chandigarh: A Peaceful Escape from Mumbai's Hustle
While work initially brought her to Chandigarh, the city has transformed into a personal sanctuary for Tina. She describes it as her 'peaceful escape' when the pace of Mumbai becomes overwhelming. The warm vibe, the joy of driving around the city, and the incredible local cuisine have all captured her heart.
She particularly appreciates how local hotels cater to her dietary preferences while allowing her to enjoy Punjabi delicacies. Her favourites include paneer tikka, kathi rolls, and chai accompanied by churi and kulcha. Tina has also explored the culinary scene, discovering lovely restaurants in Sector 9, cherishing these small moments as her best memories of the city.
Navigating Bollywood Rumours with a Thick Skin
Having grown up in the film industry, Tina Ahuja is no stranger to the whirlwind of rumours and gossip, often involving her parents or other actors. She addresses this with candid clarity. 'At this point, if I know something isn’t true, I choose to ignore it,' she states.
She explains that the environment has taught her to develop a thick skin. The key, according to her, is to not get entangled in false narratives but to simply move on and concentrate on one's own work and path. This mature outlook highlights her focus on personal growth beyond the noise of showbiz.
As Tina continues her entrepreneurial journey and enjoys her time in Chandigarh, she represents a new generation of industry kids who are carving their own unique identities, balancing legacy with personal ambition, and finding joy in simple, everyday experiences.
