Bharat Kapoor was a versatile actor who appeared in over 50 films across Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati cinema. He was particularly known for his roles in critically acclaimed movies like 'Munnabhai MBBS' where he played the father of Sanjay Dutt's character, and 'Lagaan' where he essayed the role of a village elder. His performance in 'Chak De! India' as the hockey coach's father also won hearts.
Born on August 15, 1945, in Mumbai, Kapoor began his acting career in the 1970s with theatre and later transitioned to films. He was also a trained classical singer and had a passion for writing. His last film appearance was in the 2020 web series 'Aarya'.
