Joe Burrow has taken up piano learning. Jake Ferguson loves to rate sandwiches. Travis Hunter enjoys fishing. Travis Kelce excels at podcasting with his older brother Jason Kelce. And as for the former Miami Dolphins wide receiver? Tyreek Hill has entered the DJing sphere and is thoroughly enjoying it. This comes when he has been linked to several teams, but no one is acquiring him.
Tyreek Hill Embraces DJing in Miami
Sports media personality Dov Kleiman shared a 40-second video clip of Tyreek Hill on X with the caption: "Breaking: Free agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill has announced that he is now a DJ in Miami. Hill has been mastering his craft while recovering from knee surgery and fell in love with EDM. Tyreek might have played his last down of football." The 32-year-old veteran wideout is blissfully creating EDM music and managing all the music and volume controls with immense scrutiny, as if he had studied for years.
Hill is recovering from a severe knee injury that cut short his 2025 NFL season. The recovery timeline indicates he could be ready midway through his 2026 campaign. However, even if he is ready, no team is reportedly showing any interest in acquiring or signing him. Though he has been unfailingly linked to several franchises after a rapid exit from his long-term franchise, the Miami Dolphins, the team released him in February, just days after Super Bowl LX. For months into free agency, he was linked to teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and others. However, none of these links came to fruition. But does that affect his Cheetah-like confidence? Oh, no, never. Instead, he is using his free agency period and offseason to develop his hobby skills.
How DJing Can Benefit Football Performance
Sometimes having a hobby can help improve football skills. DJing can aid in better decision-making under pressure, rhythm and timing, multitasking, and increased focus, including peripheral vision. These skills are required by a football player on the gridiron. No wonder another player seemed interested in the skill two offseasons ago: Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson.
The NFL's official YouTube account shared a 2-minute video in September 2024. The video featured Bijan Robinson learning the tricks of DJing from Louis The Child. How did learning DJing help Bijan Robinson improve his 2024 performance? He recorded impressive numbers in the 2024 NFL season: 1,456 rushing yards, 15 total touchdowns, and 61 receptions for 431 receiving yards in 17 games. Now that Tyreek Hill is resorting to DJing, can we expect the same level of performance from his 2026 chapter? But before that, who is going to sign or pick him? Spotrac projects a two-year, $30 million contract, averaging his annual income at $15 million. Lately, he was linked to a fourth team: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The same team that wide receiver Mike Evans left for the San Francisco 49ers. Would Tyreek Hill join Tampa Bay or any other team? It remains to be seen.
