Speculation about a potential collaboration between Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun and acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph has been rife. Despite the lack of an official announcement, fans have been buzzing with excitement. Many assumed the project could be the long-discussed 'Shaktimaan' film. However, writer Arun Anirudhan has now set the record straight, confirming that the movie with Allu Arjun is not connected to 'Shaktimaan'.
Arun Anirudhan Opens Up About 'Shaktimaan'
In a recent interaction with Club FM 94.3, Arun Anirudhan shed light on the 'Shaktimaan' project. He revealed that he and writer Paulson Skaria were working on the screenplay for what was intended to be Basil Joseph's next directorial venture. Anirudhan stated, "Paulson (Skaria) and I were writing the screenplay for Basil's next directorial. Unfortunately, it did not go on the floors. It was supposed to be a massive film… Shaktimaan. I do not know whether it will happen or not; it is quite complicated."
His comments confirmed that the 'Shaktimaan' project existed at one stage but has not progressed further. The film remains in a state of uncertainty.
No Link Between 'Shaktimaan' and Allu Arjun Film
Arun Anirudhan also addressed the upcoming project involving Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph, stating unequivocally that it has nothing to do with 'Shaktimaan'. He emphasized that the superhero film was never pitched to Allu Arjun. "No… no. This (Allu Arjun film) has no connection with Shaktimaan. That is something different, and all updates will be shared soon," he said.
When asked if Basil Joseph's attendance at Allu Sirish's wedding hinted at the collaboration, Anirudhan clarified, "Allu Arjun invited him. He has seen Minnal Murali, he liked it, and they are in touch."
Allu Arjun's Upcoming Projects
While fans await an official announcement regarding the Basil Joseph project, Allu Arjun is currently occupied with the shooting of 'Raaka', directed by Atlee. This big-budget film is expected to feature a parallel universe concept and stars Deepika Padukone as the female lead. Following 'Raaka', the 'Pushpa' actor is set to team up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for his highly anticipated project, tentatively titled 'AA23'.
