Ahmedabad is set to host a diverse array of cultural events this May, ranging from a contemplative art exhibition to a biographical sports drama and a solo show exploring symbolism. Here is a detailed look at what is on offer.
The Living Threshold: Exploring Boundaries and Entanglements
Titled 'The Living Threshold', this exhibition brings together an internationally acclaimed roster of artists to explore the shifting boundaries between self, memory, ecology and collective existence. Through diverse material practices such as woodcut prints, embroidered silks, bronze, ceramics, stone pigments and photography, the show reflects on identity, migration, environmental fragility and the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world.
The exhibition moves across themes of vulnerability, coexistence and transformation. Domestic spaces become uncanny, landscapes carry emotional memory, and the human form appears as a site of negotiation and change. Rather than offering fixed answers, the exhibition creates a contemplative space that invites viewers to reflect on interdependence and the fragile entanglements that shape contemporary life.
When: May 10 to 31, 11am to 7pm (Monday to Saturday)
Where: 079|STORIES, Rajpath Rangoli Road, Off SG Highway

Marinette: A Story of Resilience in Women's Football
A French biographical sports drama, 'Marinette', traces the extraordinary journey of Marinette Pichon, one of the most influential figures in women's football. Rising from a difficult childhood marked by domestic violence and social barriers, Marinette fights her way through exclusion, institutional resistance and homophobia to become a record-breaking striker and outspoken advocate for equality in sport.
The film follows her path from local football clubs in France to professional success in the United States, where she becomes the first French woman footballer to sign with an American league. Beyond sport, 'Marinette' reflects on visibility, resilience and the long struggle for recognition of women and LGBTQ+ athletes in professional football.

The exhibition invites viewers into a contemplative visual space shaped by pattern, colour and symbolism.
