The book, authored by historian Dr. M. R. Raghunandan, provides an in-depth analysis of Wadiyar's reign from 1894 to 1940. It covers his progressive policies, such as the establishment of the University of Mysore, the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and the Mysore Economic Conference. The author spent over five years researching archives and interviewing descendants of the royal family.
