Preparations for the Record Attempt
Preparations for the massive cooking exercise began in the early hours of Sunday, with giant utensils, tonnes of ingredients and a large team working to transform the humble breakfast into a global spectacle. Following the record attempt, the tarri poha will be distributed free to citizens between 6:30 and 9:30 am. Complimentary tea will also be served by Mahachai.
Significance of Tarri Poha
Deeply woven into Nagpur's identity, tarri poha is a distinctive variation of traditional poha topped with a spicy curry-like gravy known as ‘tarri', usually made using seasoned chickpeas or black peas. The dish has evolved beyond a breakfast item to become a symbol closely associated with the city.
