The Hindi adaptation of the critically acclaimed 'Drishyam 3' has achieved a significant milestone as its filming has been officially completed. The movie has now transitioned into the post-production phase, gearing up for its planned theatrical release later this year. This marks a major step forward for the project, which serves as the Hindi rendition of the popular Malayalam 'Drishyam' franchise, originally headlined by Mohanlal.
Ajay Devgn and Tabu are reprising their roles to continue the suspense-driven narrative that has captivated audiences. The film is being directed by Abhishek Pathak, who recently shared an exciting update regarding its progress. Through his social media channels, Pathak revealed that a crucial production phase had been concluded, accompanied by behind-the-scenes visuals from the sets. In a subsequent conversation with Pinkvilla, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak and director Abhishek Pathak elaborated on the current status, stating, “We are currently working on some patchwork and will release it on October 2. There’s a lot of excitement around the film. What people are seeing right now in Malayalam Drishyam is different.”
Director Shares Update on Film Progress
Abhishek Pathak also provided insights into the creative direction of the Hindi adaptation. He emphasized that the film has been developed uniquely to cater to Hindi-speaking audiences. “For the Hindi audience, I have created a completely different track that will work beautifully here. The Malayalam version focuses more on family drama, while the Hindi version will lean more towards a family thriller. That’s the fabric of the film. When the trailer releases, audiences will see how different the two worlds are,” Pathak explained.
Prakash Raj Earlier Shared His Shooting Update
Earlier, actor Prakash Raj had given fans a glimpse into the project after completing his portions. On May 23, he posted a picture from the sets on social media, showing him standing with his back to the camera while a clapboard displayed 'Drishyam 3'. The post generated significant attention from eager viewers. Sharing the update, Prakash Raj wrote, “#Drishyam3 Hindi .. Just wrapped up a fantastic shoot with a wonderful team… thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this film. I’m sure you‘ll love it too… on to the next one @abhishekpathakk @kumarmangatpathak @panorama_studios”.
Reports indicate that filming for the project began in Goa in December. Meanwhile, the Malayalam version starring Mohanlal hit theaters in May 2026 and performed exceptionally well at the global box office. The Hindi adaptation is now anticipated to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026. With post-production underway, fans can expect more updates as the release date approaches.
