His wife and actress Jyothika has now spoken about the film's massive success, revealing that the entire family is overjoyed and overwhelmed by the audience's response.

During a recent interaction, Jyothika expressed gratitude for the love from fans, as reported by Moneycontrol. She stated that the film's success has brought immense happiness to their home, and the family is celebrating the achievement. The 'Shaitaan' actress praised Suriya for consistently choosing stories with strong emotions and meaning, noting that he loves films that tell good stories and connect with people.
She said, "We're very overwhelmed. Suriya loves telling good stories, and he always makes sure there's a story in every film. But the box office numbers are also required, I think, for the heroes. Or for actors, any actor, any budget. No one's here to be at a loss. So, it's very important for them also to churn out the numbers."
Film Has More Than Just Mass Appeal
Jyothika also spoke about what made 'Karuppu' special for her. She emphasized that the film is not just a regular commercial entertainer but has a strong emotional core. "Definitely, it's very overwhelming. And if you see Karuppu, along with being an absolute fan and commercial film, there's a story going on. He's playing a God, and there's something to the script, definitely. It's not just one of the run-of-the-mill commercial films. It has its own soul," she said. She added that the story has been presented in a way that connects with mass audiences while carrying strong emotions.
Praises Suriya's Performance in the Climax
Jyothika was particularly impressed with Suriya's work in the final portions of the film. She remarked, "But the last ten minutes of the film, I mean, Suriya's really performed brilliantly. We're so overwhelmed and so happy with the love. It's a celebration at home." Directed by RJ Balaji, 'Karuppu' stars Suriya and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 188.82 crore worldwide in seven days.
