Naga Chaitanya is currently gearing up for his upcoming mystical supernatural adventure thriller, 'Vrushakarma', directed by Karthik Dandu. Recently, the actor talked about the character he is playing in the movie and also the work they are putting into its VFX.

Naga Chaitanya on His Role in Vrushakarma

In a conversation with Variety India, Naga Chaitanya, discussing his role, said, 'I play Arjun, a treasure hunter.' He also shared that the story offers a unique feel. He mentioned that while he has watched many Hollywood films with similar concepts, only a few Indian films attempt this kind of idea.

Praises Director Karthik Dandu's Genre Expertise

The 'Thandel' star spoke about the director and his work. He said Karthik Dandu excels in this genre. He added, 'The director Karthik Varma Dandu's previous film, Virupaksha, also had mythological layering, and he excels in this horror-thriller genre.' The film will blend myth and thrill, creating excitement for the audience.

Vrushakarma Release Plans

The actor also discussed the scale of the film. He said, 'There is a lot of VFX involved in Vrushakarma as we want to create a large-scale theatrical experience for the audience.' He revealed that the film is nearly complete. 'The film is 90 per cent complete, but there is still 10 per cent left. That is why we don't have an exact release date yet, but we are eyeing the August to October window.'

Naga Chaitanya's Work Front

Naga Chaitanya is also returning with Season 2 of 'Dhootha'. The shoot will begin in May. Talking about OTT platforms, he said, 'The kind of exposure OTT gives you is phenomenal. The shows or films are released in 100 countries and dubbed in multiple languages. When people reach out to you, when you are traveling, and praise your performance, it really gives you a high.' On the work front, he was last seen in the romantic drama 'Thandel', starring alongside Sai Pallavi.
