After Salman Khan's upcoming venture, tentatively titled 'SVC63' and directed by Vamshi Paidipally, is reportedly eyeing an Eid 2027 release, new reports indicate that the makers of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' starring Prabhas are considering postponing their announced release date.
Avoiding a Clash at the Box Office
According to a report by Mid-Day, since the Salman Khan and Nayanthara starrer is locked for an Eid 2027 release, which falls in March, it would not be strategic for 'Spirit' to debut in the same window. The decision appears to be a calculated move to ensure both films have a clean run at the box office.
No Impact on Shooting Schedule
The 'Kabir Singh' director's films heavily rely on sustained buzz and uninterrupted theatrical runs. The change in release date is not due to any production delays. The team continues to work as planned, with the goal of wrapping up shooting by early 2027.
Focus on Post-Production
Furthermore, the 'Animal' director wants to allocate ample time for editing, background score, and proper dubbing in Hindi, Telugu, and other languages for a pan-India release. Avoiding clashes between big-budget films benefits the business, unless unavoidable. Additionally, the makers are considering a December release, a slot that proved lucky for Sandeep Reddy Vanga as his film 'Animal' starring Ranbir Kapoor released during the same period and became a blockbuster.
About 'Spirit'
Earlier this year, Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared the first look of 'Spirit', showcasing Prabhas in an intense avatar with a wounded back. Triptii Dimri, who plays the female lead, is seen calmly lighting his cigarette. The film also features Vivek Oberoi in key roles. Initially announced for a March 5 release, the film is now expected to be delayed.
