Director and writer Prashanth Neel, renowned for the blockbuster franchises 'KGF' and 'Salaar', is currently immersed in his upcoming project 'Dragon' starring Jr NTR. The film is slated for a theatrical release next year. While fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel to the Prabhas-starrer 'Salaar', Neel recently disclosed that work on 'Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam' will commence only after the completion of 'Dragon'.
Updates on 'Salaar: Part 2' and 'KGF 3'
In an interview with Galatta Plus, Prashanth Neel confirmed that the much-anticipated sequel featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran will begin production once 'Dragon' wraps up. Regarding the possibility of 'KGF 3', the director stated that he has not yet decided when to return to the 'KGF' universe. He did not provide any timeline for the project, emphasizing that his full focus remains on 'Dragon' and subsequently 'Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam'.
A Different Side of Prashanth Neel
Interestingly, Neel revealed that 'Dragon' will diverge from the mass-action films he is known for. He disclosed that he has been working on a mythological film series, which will feature a brighter and more colorful visual style compared to the dark worlds of 'KGF' and 'Salaar'. Additionally, he expressed a desire to create a small, emotional drama film someday.

'Salaar' is set in the powerful city-state of Khansaar and explores the complicated friendship between Deva (Prabhas) and Vardharaja Mannar (Prithviraj Sukumaran). The film also features Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, and John Vijay in pivotal roles.
Cast of 'Dragon'
Neel's upcoming film 'Dragon' is expected to be another grand universe with expansive storytelling. The cast includes Rukmini Vasanth, Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, and other notable performers.
