Riteish Deshmukh's directorial venture 'Raja Shivaji' has been receiving widespread acclaim since its theatrical release. Despite initial skepticism about Riteish Deshmukh portraying the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the actor has managed to impress both critics and audiences with his compelling performance.

Box Office Performance

The historical drama, which focuses on the life of the Maratha king and founder of Swarajya, is set to complete its first week in theatres. According to the latest Sacnilk report, on Day 6, the Marathi version collected Rs 3 crore across 1949 shows, while the Hindi edition minted Rs 1.25 crore across 3670 shows, resulting in a total Day 6 collection of Rs 4.25 crore.

This brings the total net collection of the film (Hindi + Marathi) to Rs 48.65 crore. The total gross collections have reached Rs 57.70 crore.

About 'Raja Shivaji'

Apart from playing the titular role, Riteish Deshmukh has also written and directed the film. The movie features a stellar ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Amole Gupte, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Vidya Balan, Genelia Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Mustaq Sheikh, Ashokh Samarth, and Suresh Vishwakarma. Salman Khan makes a special appearance as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's guard, Jiva Mahala, during the battle of Pratapgad.

The film was released in theatres on May 1, 2026, and has been well-received by audiences across both Hindi and Marathi versions.
