Lucknow: The two-day theatre festival organized by the Anadi Cultural Educational and Social Organisation commenced on Thursday at the International Buddhist Research Centre with the play 'Ek Bacche Ki Diary', which poignantly depicted the loneliness of a child.
Story of Sameer
Written by Karuna Pandey and directed by Munni Devi, the play revolves around Sameer, a sensitive child who is driven to attempt suicide under the weight of loneliness and parental pressure. Throughout the narrative, Sameer chronicles his innermost feelings in a diary, offering the audience a window into his troubled mind.
Hopeful Ending
The play concludes on a hopeful note, as Sameer’s smile returns on his birthday when he rediscovers his mother’s affection. This resolution underscores the importance of emotional support and understanding in a child's life.
The festival continues on Friday with the staging of the play 'Til Ka Taad'. Organizers have expressed their commitment to using theatre as a medium to address social issues and foster cultural dialogue.
