House of the Dragon has unveiled the explosive final trailer for Season 3, teasing an all-out war, dragons, and destruction in Westeros. The highly anticipated HBO series, set to return on June 21, released the new trailer with the tagline, "The throne knows no mercy."
Picking up where the first trailer left off, the new footage follows Emma D'Arcy's Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith's Daemon Targaryen laying siege over Westeros with their dragons and unleashing chaos in their path. Unlike the first clip that gave fans a glimpse of the much-talked-about Battle of the Gullet, dragon fights, and more, this one takes fans through a burning city descending into violence and chaos while its armies go to battle across the Seven Kingdoms and its Queen claims her throne.
Season 3 Plot Details
Season 3 will reportedly pick up directly after the events of Season 2 and center heavily on the Battle of the Gullet, one of the bloodiest conflicts in George R.R. Martin's fantasy universe. Showrunner Ryan Condal previously described the episode as "arguably the craziest episode of television ever made." Based on Martin's Fire & Blood, the new season is expected to bring politics, devastating betrayals, major character deaths, and large-scale warfare as the Targaryen dynasty tears itself apart in its battle for the Iron Throne.
