Shooting amidst snow-covered mountains may look magical on screen, but for actors, it often comes with its own set of challenges. For actress Shambhavi Singh, who plays Shalini in the television show Mr. and Mrs. Parshuram, her recent shoot in Manali was truly a unique one, which can be considered out of any romantic Hollywood film.
Manali Shoot: A Blend of Thrill and Romance
Recently, the crew headed to Manali where they shot an electrifying scene that involves a track on a huge kidnapping case. Drawing from the cult movie Roja, the next few episodes involve the kidnapping of Parshuram and leave viewers curious as to how he will get back and who would save him. Within the thrilling narrative, the production included some visually romantic scenes. One of which was the shoot of a dreamlike scene with Shambhavi wearing a chiffon saree amid the snow-clad mountains of Manali.
Shambhavi's Memorable Experience
She recounted that “one of my best experiences from my schedule in Manali was filming the romantic sequence in a chiffon saree against the backdrop of the snow-capped mountains. It was as if one had stepped into a story from the great love dramas we watched since childhood.”
She further added, “Although the visuals looked beautiful on camera, filming in such cold temperatures was difficult. It was my first experience of snowing, and it was very different indeed. In fact, most people in our team were getting their first glimpse of snow, so everyone was quite excited. We got extremely cold, and some of us even fell sick since it is so different from the Mumbai climate.”
Challenges of Shooting in Snow
Filming in extreme weather conditions posed several difficulties for the cast and crew. The stark contrast between the pleasant Mumbai weather and the freezing temperatures of Manali led to health issues, with some team members falling ill. Despite these challenges, the team remained enthusiastic, capturing stunning visuals that promise to captivate the audience.
