'The Pitt' Season 3 Set in November, Premieres Jan 2026

The critically acclaimed medical drama 'The Pitt' is preparing for its third season, with exciting new details confirmed. The show, known for its intense real-time portrayal of healthcare professionals at a fictional Pittsburgh trauma center, has garnered a strong following since its debut. Season 3 will continue this tradition, set against the backdrop of early November, introducing holiday-driven storylines and complications.

Season 3 Setting and Holiday Themes

Stars Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa announced at an industry event that production on Season 3 is about to begin. Wyle stated, "We're about to start production on Season 3. It's set in early November, just before the holidays, ushering in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications." While specific holidays were not mentioned, Veterans Day (November 11) and Thanksgiving (November 26) are likely candidates. Veterans have been a significant part of the show's narratives, including characters like Dr. Jack Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) and Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi). Season 2 also introduced Duke Ekins (Jeff Kober), a veteran friend of Dr. Robby. Given this history, Veterans Day remains a strong possibility alongside Thanksgiving. For context, Season 2 was set over Fourth of July weekend, with each season using a holiday period to frame its real-time storytelling.

Premiere Date and Episode Count

Executive producer and director John Wells confirmed that production on Season 3 will start in June. "We will be back in production in June, and plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year," Wells said. Work on the writers' room for Season 3 began in March.
