From international hits to local successes, viewers across India have a rich selection awaiting them on Netflix, JioHotstar, and ZEE5.

Global Premieres and Star-Studed Dramas

The international slate is particularly strong this week. Leading the charge is "Idol I," a South Korean legal thriller series that arrives on Netflix from December 22, 2025. The show, written by Kim Da-rin and directed by Lee Kwang-young, features Kim Jae-young and Choi Soo-young. It follows defence lawyer Maeng Se-na as she defends her favourite idol, Do Ra-ik, accused of murder, only to discover disturbing truths.

Meanwhile, JioHotstar is set to stream "Amadeus" from December 22. This fictionalised retelling of composers Mozart and Salieri stars Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany, with Gabrielle Creevy as Constanze Mozart. The series, which premieres on Sky Atlantic on December 21, delves into 18th-century Vienna, exploring Mozart's prodigious rise and his intense rivalry with the court composer.

Festive Fare and Long-Awaited Finales

Netflix adds a touch of holiday spirit with "Goodbye June," premiering on December 24. This Christmas family drama marks the directorial debut of Kate Winslet, who also stars alongside a stellar cast including Toni Collette, Helen Mirren, and Timothy Spall. The story, penned by Winslet's son Joe Anders, revolves around a family reconciling around their dying mother during the festive season.

However, the most awaited event for many is the conclusion of a global phenomenon. "Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2" hits Netflix on December 26, 2025. This release continues the final season's three-part rollout, with the last episodes of the Duffer Brothers' iconic sci-fi horror series scheduled to drop on December 31, bringing the epic saga to a close.

Indian Debuts and Spy Thrillers

For fans of Indian cinema, ZEE5 will host the OTT debut of the Hindi romantic drama "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat" from December 26. Directed by Milap Zaveri and starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, the film, which released theatrically during Diwali 2025, became a commercial success despite mixed reviews.

Rounding off the week is an intriguing spy thriller. JioHotstar will stream "The Copenhagen Test" from December 28. This American sci-fi espionage series, created by Thomas Brandon and executive produced by James Wan, features Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera. The eight-episode show promises a blend of futuristic themes and classic spy action.
