Amazon Prime Video has just revealed the first look at Sophie Turner playing the legendary archaeologist Lara Croft. This exciting announcement comes for the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider television series. Turner, widely recognized for her performances in Game of Thrones and the X-Men movies, now takes on a character made famous on screen by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.

First Look and Production Details Unveiled

The 29-year-old actor appears in the first look images wearing Lara Croft's classic shorts, sunglasses, and dual pistols. She perfectly captures the adventurous essence of the character. Amazon Prime Video has officially confirmed that production for the first season of the Tomb Raider series is now underway.

The series boasts an impressive supporting cast. It includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.

Sigourney Weaver will portray Evelyn Wallis. Amazon describes her as a mysterious and high-flying woman eager to exploit Lara's unique talents. Jason Isaacs takes on the role of Atlas DeMornay, Lara Croft's uncle, a character with deep roots in the original Tomb Raider franchise.

Bill Paterson has been cast as Winston, the loyal butler to the Croft family. Martin Bobb-Semple will play Zip, Lara's tech-savvy confidant. Several other cast members will portray characters newly created specifically for this television adaptation.
