Dr. Sushiladevi Basavannappa Ramannavar, a revered centenarian Ayurvedic doctor and the President of the Dr Ramannavar Charitable Trust, passed away on Monday at the age of 101. A resident of Basavanagar in Bailhongal town, her death marks the end of an era in the field of traditional Indian medicine.
Body Donation to Ayurveda College
In accordance with her final wishes, Dr. Sushiladevi's body was donated to the KLE BM Kankanavadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya for medical education and research purposes. This act of generosity underscores her lifelong commitment to advancing Ayurvedic knowledge and practice.
A Legacy of Philanthropy and Service
Dr. Sushiladevi was the wife of Dr. B.S. Ramannavar, a distinguished freedom fighter, dentist, and Ayurveda expert. Eighteen years ago, she established the Dr Ramannavar Charitable Trust in Bailhongal and made history by donating her husband's body to the Belagavi KLE Ayurveda Forum College through this trust. This pioneering move set a precedent for anatomical donations in the Ayurvedic community.

Funeral Procession Details
A funeral procession is scheduled for Tuesday at 12 noon. It will commence from Channamma Circle in Bailhongal and proceed to the BM Kankanwadi Ayurveda College in Belagavi, where final rites will be conducted.
