Dr Nidhi Mahendru, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Yamunanagar, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Clean Water Committee of the Microbiologists Society, India, for the academic year 2026–2027. This prestigious appointment recognizes her significant contributions to biotechnology, microbiology, environmental sustainability, and academic leadership.
Role and Responsibilities
In her new capacity, Dr Mahendru will lead nationwide initiatives focused on clean water awareness, sustainable water management, environmental conservation, and scientific outreach. Previous Contributions
Prior to this appointment, Dr Mahendru served as the Haryana State President of the Microbiologists Society for the academic year 2025–2026. During her tenure, she actively promoted scientific awareness, facilitated research collaborations, and encouraged academic excellence within the state.
