A 64-year-old man from Indore's Bhagirathpura area died at a private hospital on Monday. This area has faced severe water contamination issues recently. Local authorities, however, did not connect his death to the diarrhoea outbreak affecting the locality.
Hospital Details the Patient's Condition
Hospital sources reported that Bhagwandas passed away due to multi-organ failure. He fought for his life for ten days before succumbing.
Medical History and Treatment
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Madhav Hasani provided details. He said the patient first entered Shalby Hospital with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea. Doctors later transferred him to Bombay Hospital because of critical blood sugar levels and other health complications.
Rahul Parashar, the hospital director, explained further. He stated the patient suffered from gangrene and multiple organ failure. A cardiac arrest ultimately led to his death.

According to the latest health bulletin issued on Monday, 39 people remain hospitalised. The city continues to grapple with the aftermath of the water contamination crisis.
