Man Dies of Grief Beside Graves of Wife and Son in Uttar Pradesh
In a tragic incident in Mahoba district, a 40-year-old man died while lying beside the graves of his wife and six-year-old son, unable to cope with their deaths just 11 days earlier. The shocking development reported from Charkhari town has left three children orphaned.
The deceased, Subhan Ahmad, a native of Harpalpur in Madhya Pradesh, had been staying at his in-laws' house in Charkhari. According to family members, the tragedy began on May 25 when his youngest son, Hasnain, died after being affected by an intense heatwave. The loss proved unbearable for the child's mother, Razia Khatun, who collapsed on hearing the news and died shortly afterwards. The mother and son were buried side by side in a local graveyard.
Relatives said Subhan was deeply attached to both his wife and youngest child and had been struggling to cope with the grief in the days that followed. On Friday around 4am, he left home and went to the graveyard. When he did not return for nearly two hours, his family began searching for him. He was found unconscious in a prayer-like position beside the graves, with one hand resting on his son's grave and the other on his wife's. Family members said he appeared to have collapsed while embracing the graves.
He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police said the exact cause of death would be ascertained after the postmortem. The couple is survived by three children, now left without both parents.
