Mahendragarh Medical College Moves to Fill Faculty Vacancies with Contractual Appointments

The administration of Maharishi Chyawan Government Medical College, located in Koriawas village near Narnaul within Mahendragarh district, has officially launched a recruitment drive to tackle a critical shortage of academic staff. This initiative comes in response to persistent concerns over inadequate faculty, doctors, and support personnel at the institution.

Contractual Recruitment Drive Announced

In a recent notification, the college authorities have advertised openings for Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors across various departments. The appointments will be made on a contractual basis, marking a strategic shift to address immediate staffing needs.

The advertisement explicitly states: "Applications are invited from eligible candidates as per the prescribed format for engagement against the sanctioned vacant faculty posts on contractual basis." This move aims to streamline the hiring process and ensure timely filling of positions.

Terms and Conditions of Employment

The contractual appointments will have an initial term of two years from the date of joining. This period may be extended by an additional two years, subject to performance and institutional requirements. However, the contract will terminate earlier if any of the following conditions are met:

  • The appointee reaches the age of 70 years.
  • A regular incumbent is appointed to the position.

Additionally, the government reserves the right to terminate services with a one-month notice period, without being obligated to provide any specific reason. This clause underscores the flexibility and temporary nature of these appointments.

Addressing Long-Staffing Issues

The shortage of faculty and medical professionals at Maharishi Chyawan Government Medical College has been a recurring issue, highlighted in multiple reports and discussions. By opting for contractual hiring, the administration seeks to mitigate these challenges swiftly, ensuring that educational and healthcare services are not compromised.

This recruitment drive is expected to attract qualified candidates from across the region, potentially improving the college's academic standards and operational efficiency. The focus on contractual appointments reflects a broader trend in public sector institutions to adapt to dynamic staffing needs while maintaining service quality.
