8-year-old boy dies after chest pain in Ferozepur

A young life was tragically cut short in Punjab's Ferozepur district on Sunday when an eight-year-old boy died after suddenly complaining of chest pain while playing with friends.

A Day of Celebration Turns Tragic

The incident occurred in Bajidpur village where the child, whose name has not been officially released, was attending a family function. According to his maternal grandfather, Sukhdev Sharma, the boy had arrived a day earlier for the gathering, with his parents joining on Sunday. In the afternoon, he was playing cricket with other children on the rooftop of the house.

"Other children told us that he was unable to play properly and complained of restlessness," Sharma recounted. The boy eventually stopped playing and sat aside as his condition began to deteriorate rapidly.

Rapid Deterioration and Rush to Hospital

Seeing his worsening state, family members brought him downstairs. "When we brought him downstairs, he was restless and sweating. We opened the buttons of his shirt but could not understand what was happening. Suddenly, he stopped responding," the grieving grandfather stated.

The family immediately rushed the unresponsive child to Amandeep Hospital in Ferozepur. However, medical professionals could not revive him. "Doctors told us that there was no pulse, the heart had stopped beating," Sharma said, expressing the family's profound shock and confusion over the sudden death of a seemingly healthy child.

Medical Perspective on the Sudden Death

Dr. Abhishek Arora, Director of Amandeep Hospital, provided a medical insight into the case. He confirmed that the boy was brought in with no detectable pulse and that his heart had already stopped.

"We cannot pinpoint that the child died due to a heart attack, but his symptoms as explained by the family correspond to that of a heart attack," Dr. Arora said. He added a crucial detail: "The family wasn't aware if the child was suffering from any cardiac disease as they had never got him examined in the past."

This tragic event has left the family and community in Bajidpur village in a state of deep mourning, grappling with the unexplained and sudden loss of a young life during what was supposed to be a joyous family occasion.
