In Patna, medical professionals concluded the Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSI) conference, SkillCon-2026, on Sunday with a strong emphasis on the critical role of timely breast cancer detection and modern therapeutic advancements in significantly improving patient survival outcomes.

The event featured comprehensive demonstrations on cutting-edge surgical procedures, precision medicine approaches, and immunotherapy techniques, all aimed at enhancing treatment efficacy. Delegates actively participated in these sessions, gaining hands-on insights into the latest medical technologies.
Rising Cases and the Imperative of Screening Protocols
Dr V P Singh, the organising chairman and a senior cancer surgeon, underscored that breast cancer remains the most prevalent malignancy among women in India. He stressed that the increasing incidence of cases across the country could be effectively managed by adhering to proper screening protocols, which facilitate early diagnosis and intervention.

Dr Rishikesh Parameshwar, a participant from England, highlighted the immense utility of modern technologies for young medical practitioners. He noted that these innovations are instrumental in refining treatment strategies and ultimately improving patient outcomes in breast cancer care.

Echoing this sentiment, Dr Aakash Kumar Singh, the organising secretary, emphasized that mortality rates from breast cancer can be substantially lowered through early detection. In the concluding session, Dr V P Singh and Dr Rahul Kumar Chaudhary reaffirmed the commitment of hospitals in Bihar to integrating technological advancements into healthcare.
